Dr. Anahid Kulwicki joined the Lebanese American University in September 2016 as the dean of the Alice Ramez Chagoury School of Nursing. She comes to LAU after serving as dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Anahid Kulwicki earned her B.S.N at the American University of Beirut and M.S.N and doctoral degrees from Indiana University School of Nursing, Indianapolis. Her program of research focuses on the health of immigrant, refugee and minority populations. A hallmark of her work has been creative collaboration between public and private institutions across multiple disciplines. She established the first health research department for the Middle Eastern community in the US to promote health research and to serve as a conduit for other researchers. In addition, she established and arranged for funding for the first Arab community based programs for HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, infant mortality, and cardiovascular diseases. Her programs have been evidence-based and effective in improving the health care of the underserved immigrant and refugee populations. Her recognized expertise led to her appointment to the Michigan Governor’s Task Force on Minority Health. Institutions such as NIH, W. Kellogg, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and numerous local and state government agencies have supported her research.

Prof. in Biostatistics in the College of Medicine, King Fahad Medical City. Prof. Bahnassy has a vast experience in both teaching and research. He is teaching Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Advanced Epidemiology and Evidence Based medicine. He has more than 150 published manuscripts in many referees’ journals. He is a statistical editor in many journals including WHO. He supervised more than 100 PhD, Master and fellowship thesis. He is conducting and participating in more than workshop yearly in both national and international levels

Biostatistics

Professor Azwihangwisi Mavhandu-Mudzusi is a professor in the department of health studies at the University of South Africa (Unisa), and the chairperson of the Research Ethics Review Committee of Unisa’s College of Human Sciences. She has a PhD in public administration from the University of Venda. Mavhandu-Mudzusi’s main research objectives focus on reducing the number of new HIV infections, and improving the quality of life of people living with HIV in rural universities. Integral to these objectives is the work that she does in advocating for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) students. She has developed an advocacy, care and support model for these students, and a management model for staff and students living with HIV. The implementation of these models has assisted in economically empowering both women living with HIV, and homosexual and gender nonconforming women in the changing world of the workplace. She has a NRF C3 rating and is the author of 29 peer-reviewed publications, a book chapter and 23 peer-reviewed conference papers. She is involved in a multi-country and multi-university project on destabilising heteronormativity in Southern African Development Community institutions of higher education. She is the principal investigator in a collaborative cross-national research project with the University of Liège and Alliant International University on the attitudes of heterosexual university students towards same-sex marriage and parenting. Mavhandu-Mudzusi has successfully supervised three PhD and 15 master’s students, and is currently supervising 10 PhD and 10 master’s students at Unisa, in addition to mentoring two doctoral students in the New Generation of Academics’ Programme, one at Sefako Makgatho University and the other at the University of Limpopo. A professional nurse, registered with the South African Nursing Council, Mavhandu-Mudzusi is an MAC AIDS Fund Leadership Initiative Fellow. She is the guest editor for two journals, as well as a reviewer for several international and local journals and conferences.

Dr. Al-Assaf is currently the Chief Operations and Quality Officer and Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors at Bona Dea International Hospital, Baku, Azerbaijan. For more than 26 years, he served the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center as the distinguished Regents’ Professor and the PHF Presidential Professor as well as the Associate Dean for International Health in the College of Public Health with specialization in quality improvement, data management, information systems and international health. In this capacity, he provided research, guidance, and education to health professionals, graduate and medical students in areas of quantitative and qualitative management. He also held adjunct and Clinical professorships in the Colleges of Medicine (Geriatric Medicine), Nursing, Allied Health (Nutritional Sciences), and Liberal Studies. Besides his academic experiences, Dr. Al-Assaf provides advice and consultations to health care facilities. His consultation extends to such organizations as U.S. Air Force, U.S. Veterans Affairs Health System, US Agency for International Development (USAID), Hospital Corporation of America, Selected Professional Associations, World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), and the American Association for World Health. On the international scene, he has provided advice on healthcare quality and preventive medicine to a number of organizations in countries in the Mid-East, North America, North Africa, South East and Central Asia and Eastern Europe. As a researcher and public speaker, Dr. Al-Assaf has published 17 books, eight book chapters, and over 170 scientific and professional publications in national and international journals, and presented lectures, seminars, or workshops to over 350 groups and organizations both nationally and internationally. He is a reviewer for several international journals on quality in health care and is a member of the editorial board of several American health care journals. He has also served as principal investigator on several grants and contracts and has authored a considerable number of technical reports and abstracts. Dr. Al-Assaf is a recipient of more than 100 awards and recognitions including Who’s Who in America and the World. Dr. Al-Assaf is a physician (MD) with a Masters degree (MS) and a Specialization Diploma in Cardio-thoracic Medicine (DCTM) from the University of London. He also holds a Masters of Public Health administration degree (MPH) from the University of Oklahoma. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Health and Prevention (FRSH), a Fellow and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Medical Administrators (FAAMA), a member of the American College of Cardiology (MACC), and Board Certified as a Quality Analyst (CQA). He is a member of the speakers' bureau of the American Association for World Health and belongs to several professional associations in Healthcare Quality and Medicine.

Prof Karani is a Professor of Nursing & Nursing Education at University of Nairobi since 2008. She obtained her doctorate in 2002 from University of Nairobi. She has a wide experience in clinical work in hospital and in community work as well as extensive experience in teaching and research work. She has more than 50 publications in peer reviewed journals and books. Prof. Karani has received several awards for promoting community work and nursing education. These awards include: Queen of England award of Officer (sister) Order of St John of Jerusalem, Day Star & KEMRI (2013); the Head of State Commendation (HSC) which she was awarded during the 40th celebration of Independence on 12th December 2003; the Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives by Johnson & Johnson awarded in 2008;Long service award for IRB KEMRI 2013; Recognition Award for Dedication & Excellence for providing training on HIV/AIDS by Marquette University, School of Nursing in 2003; International Council of Nurses Certificate for Continuing Education in 1999; gold medal for services at the 4th All Africa Games in 2009; and Recognition of Commitment, Diligence and Long Service by National Nurses of Kenya in 2009’ among others. She is currently the Chief Nursing Officer for St. John Ambulance Kenya, the Vice Chair of the Nursing Council of Kenya, Lead Trainer for Leadership For Change for International Council of Nurses (ICN) Kenya. She is a member of both Kenyatta National Hospital/University of Nairobi and the KEMRI, ERC. She also serves as the Chief Editor of the Kenya Nursing Journal. She was the coordinator post-graduate programs and head of Education/ Administration School of Nursing Sciences University of Nairobi. Prof Karani is an external examiner to nursing programs in the region and has initiated some collaboration with local, regional and international nursing programs.

Speakers at several international Symposia and conferences, Saudi Heart Association member as senior Regional Faculty for ACLS. Dr.Siddeshwar Angadi is a Vice Principal-College of Nursing and CMC Director Nursing Education Unit (HPERC).His current position is Associate professor at Chitwan Medical College (CMC), since 2011, he conduct theoretical classes for bachelor and master nursing students covering wide range of nursing topics to mention few; nursing education, nursing research, adult health nursing and medical surgical nursing, supervise the students in clinical postings and also mentored the research thesis of bachelor and master nursing students. Fatemeh Hosseiny was born in Afghanistan and migrated to Iran. She completed her schooling in elementary school and had a goal to become a big scientist. All her teachers and classmates had known her as hard core and book worm student. When she graduated from high school, she went to software engineering field at first; after 3 semester she figured it out that she doesn’t want to live only to get rich and famous ... she wants to help all people regardless of their age, gender, race and so on. therefore, she changed her major to nursing after forth semester in engineering. She studied out nursing for 4 years then she made her decision to level up her education. so, she went to new university and now she is so glad of being in current situation as TUMS MD student. She loves nursing and she did lots of study to increase her knowledge as taking several courses on coursera.org She also participate in several charity activity in slum areas in Iran. She loves to climb mountains. She was a very active member of many conferences team.
